ASHLEY COPE

A collaborative project with a group of masters students studying publishing, where I was asked to illustrate a children’s book they had created as part of their group brief. I Would, But... takes inspiration from the Penguin Random House (PRH) logo and publishing house, which was to be the basis of my illustrations. The story follows a Penguin who stumbles across a stranded Polar Bear. In order to save the Polar Bear, the Penguin asks various animals for their help, despite each having their own excuse why they cannot assist. The design and narrative express an Antarctic setting, to cleverly draw attention to the PRH mission statement of climate change.
